While the Canado Family Hotel is your retreat nestled in nature and the silence of the pine forest, San Vincenzo represents the liveliest, most urban soul of the coast. Just a ten-minute drive from our hotel, this town is the ideal destination for those seeking a stroll amongst the boats in the marina, an afternoon’s shopping amongst the shop windows in the town centre, or simply the pleasure of an excellent ice cream whilst admiring the sunset.
San Vincenzo is not just a seaside resort: it is a fishing village that has transformed itself into an elegant setting, where modern style blends with the Tuscan maritime tradition.
A stroll suspended over the water: the Harbour and the Sailor

The natural starting point for exploring San Vincenzo is its marina. Recently redeveloped, it is now one of the most beautiful marinas in Tuscany. Strolling amongst the moored yachts and sailing boats always fascinates young explorers, but the real magic lies on the Passeggiata del Marinaio.
This is a footpath that stretches along the cliff, right by the waves, until it reaches the majestic statue of the Sailor, the work of sculptor Giampaolo Talani. Standing a full 7 metres tall, the sculpture seems to scan the horizon, waiting for those arriving from the sea. Arriving here with the children, with the wind in your hair and the Island of Elba standing out clearly on the horizon, offers an unrivalled sense of freedom and space.
Shopping, ice cream parlours and pedestrian areas
Leaving the pier behind, simply cross the road to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. The heart of the town centre is right here, an entirely pedestrianised area, a long avenue where children can walk in complete safety whilst you enjoy the slow pace of your holiday. With shops, small boutiques and local craft shops, there is no shortage of shopping opportunities.
The unmissable ritual, however, remains that of artisan gelato: the historic gelaterias on the Corso are famous throughout the area, and enjoying a giant cone whilst strolling past the illuminated shop windows is the perfect way to round off a family afternoon.
As the sun sets, the numerous bars and restaurants lining the street or overlooking the beach come alive for aperitifs, offering that touch of liveliness that completes your holiday experience on the Tuscan coast.
