How can I book?
Booking is simple and you can choose your preferred method:
- via the website, by clicking on “Book”
- by filling in the enquiry form at the bottom of every page on the website

How can I cancel a booking?
You can cancel your booking by sending us written notice. Any cancellation fee will be applied as set out in the Cancellation Policy provided at the time of booking.
Which payment options can I choose to confirm my booking?
To confirm your booking, you can choose from a range of options, depending on the level of flexibility you require:
Flex Rate
Book with complete peace of mind: you can change or cancel your booking without penalty within the specified terms. It’s the ideal choice if you want maximum flexibility, even just a few days before arrival.
Semi-Flex Rate
By paying a deposit to secure your booking, you can access a more advantageous rate. A good balance between convenience and peace of mind.
FLASH Promo Rate
Offer subject to limited availability: if available, this allows you to get the maximum discount by booking in advance. Advance payment of the booking is required.
Arrival & Stay
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in takes place upon your arrival at the property: you can arrive from 10 am, complete the registration procedures and start enjoying your day straight away.
Keys to your accommodation will be handed over from 4 pm. We will do our best to have your room ready by that time or even earlier, although there may be slight variations.
In the meantime, you can relax on the beach or by the pool, make use of the dining options and let the children join in with the entertainment activities.
Check-out time, on the other hand, is set for 10 am. After returning your keys to Reception, you are welcome to remain within the resort, hire a parasol or simply enjoy the pool and restaurants.
In summary:

Reception is open 24 hours a day: you can arrive in the evening too, we just ask that you let us know if you’re arriving after 10 pm.
What should I do on arrival?
On arrival, you will find our car park, covered by solar panels, on your left. Ring the bell at the car park entrance barrier and head towards the luggage loading/unloading area at the end of the car park. There, you can also wait for our shuttle bus, which will take you to the hotel in a few minutes (900m).
What documents are required for check-in?
You must present an identity document for each member of your family at check-in. If your children do not have one because they are very young, a health card is sufficient.
How can I speed up the check-in process?
To make your arrival at the property even quicker, you can complete online check-in via the link that the system will automatically send you before your arrival. In any case, we will need to verify the accuracy of the details you have entered at Reception.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept debit cards, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Union Pay, cheques and cash within the limits set by current legislation. If you wish to pay by bank transfer on arrival, please note that we only accept instant transfers: please check the limits and procedures with your bank in advance.
Where is the nearest railway station and how far away is it?
Castagneto Carducci–Donoratico railway station is the nearest and is located approximately 3 km from the Resort. San Vincenzo station, on the other hand, is approximately 10 km away and is also served by Freccia Bianca and Intercity trains.
Which is the nearest airport? Do you offer a shuttle service to and from the airport?
The nearest airport is Pisa, about 75 km from the Resort. We do not offer a direct shuttle service to and from the airport, but we can help you explore transfer options, which you will need to book yourself.
Rooms & Facilities
Do the rooms have a balcony?
Yes, all rooms on the first and second floors have a balcony.
The ground-floor rooms, however, have a patio in front of the entrance.
Is there air conditioning in the rooms?
Yes, all rooms are air-conditioned, and this is included in the price.
Are your rooms non-smoking?
Yes, all rooms are non-smoking.
Do you have cots available?
Yes, on request, we provide travel cots free of charge. Cot bumpers, if available, are delivered to the room at the guest’s request, subject to the signing of a liability waiver.
Do you have a car park?
Yes, we have a large, free, covered car park with CCTV (unattended), reserved exclusively for our guests. It is located 900 metres from the hotel and is served 24 hours a day by our electric shuttle, which covers the journey in just a few minutes and ensures a traffic-free environment and clean air.
Do you have Wi-Fi?
Free Wi-Fi is available and reliable in all public areas of the Resort and in the rooms.
Do the rooms have TVs?
Yes, all rooms are equipped with at least one Smart TV connected to the network (two in all ‘Family’ options).
Do the rooms have a direct telephone line?
Yes, all rooms have a direct telephone line.
Is mobile phone reception good at the resort?
As for mobile signal, reception isn’t always consistent due to the resort’s location surrounded by nature and the surrounding trees. In some areas, such as the beach, the signal is better. In any case, you can always stay in touch with your loved ones via WhatsApp, and reception can forward calls to the landline in your room.
Are pets allowed?
No, pets are not permitted within the resort.
However, you’ll find squirrels and hares keeping you company, as they occasionally make their appearance amongst the natural surroundings.
Is there a laundry service available?
Yes, there is a laundry room available to guests within the Resort, equipped with coin-operated washing machines and tumble dryers.
How does the entertainment programme work? Is it guaranteed even in the low season?
Entertainment is at the heart of the Canado experience: for this reason, the service runs from the hotel’s opening to closing time. The number of entertainers varies according to the number of guests, with the aim of constantly ensuring the highest quality of service.
Children are organised into groups divided by age, and the entertainers offer a variety of activities, always tailored to the specific needs of each stage of psychomotor development: creative workshops, fun and educational sessions, sports tournaments and much more.
As a guide, the timings are:
- morning: 10am–12.30pm
- afternoon: 4pm–6.30pm
- evening at the theatre: 9.15 pm baby dance followed by a show
What is the Baby Club for 1–3-year-olds and how does it work?
The Canado Family Hotel is proud to be one of the very few establishments in Italy offering qualified childcare services for children from 1 year of age. The Baby Club operates like a small nursery, located in a cool area specially designed for little ones. Our guests can entrust their children to the carers, who will offer age-appropriate play-based learning activities every day. This way, the holiday truly becomes a relaxing and fun experience for the whole family.

Beach, Dining and Activities
How far is the beach?
Il Canado is situated right on the beach, so there’s no need to travel anywhere.
What are the opening hours for the beach service?
The beach service is an additional service, not included in the base rate. If you have booked it, your parasol will be available from 10 am on the day of arrival until 7 pm on the day before departure.
The service is not included on the morning of departure. If you wish to use it on that day as well, you can request it on site, subject to availability.
Is there a swimming pool?
Yes, the Resort has three swimming pools, one of which has an inflatable slide.
How do half-board and full-board services work, and what do they include?
All our packages include half-board (breakfast and dinner). Lunch can be added by choosing the ‘full-board’ option.
Half-board includes:
- breakfast buffet
- buffet dinner
Full board includes:
- breakfast buffet
- buffet lunch
- buffet dinner
All meals are served at the Marea Restaurant. Water is always included, whilst other drinks are charged according to consumption. Fruit juices and coffee are also included at breakfast.
The packages also include dinner at our Pizzeria.
Please note that no refunds are available for any meals not taken.
Do I need to book a table at the restaurants?
It is not necessary to book meals included in your half-board or full-board booking at the Marea Restaurant.
Table reservations are required for the Pizzeria.
Is there a children’s menu?
Yes, we have a dedicated children’s buffet, featuring simple, healthy and tasty options. We also provide baby food, baby meals and vegetable purées, ideal for weaning.
Is there a menu for coeliacs?
Our kitchen cannot guarantee full management of food intolerances or allergies. However, we are always happy to assist you as best we can, advising you to take the necessary precautions.
If you wish to use our catering services and have any food intolerances or allergies, you will be required to sign a liability waiver form and send it to us before your arrival.
Gluten-free options are always available at the buffet and in the restaurants; furthermore, you can ask our chefs to prepare gluten-free pasta or pizza to order. However, we cannot guarantee the complete absence of cross-contamination.
