When the Tuscan summer really kicks in and the desire for a cool dip takes hold, there’s one place where the fun never stops: Acqua Village. For our guests, a day spent on the slides and in the wave pools has become a tradition – the perfect way to break up the beach routine and give the children an experience full of adrenaline and smiles.
Imagine leaving our pine forest and, in just a few minutes, finding yourself immersed in a true tropical paradise of palm trees, thatched huts and scenery that evokes the scent of faraway islands.
Acqua Village Cecina: fun just around the corner
The Cecina site is the favourite ‘splash spot’ for guests staying at Canado. Just a 20–25-minute drive from our resort, this park is a burst of pure energy. The entire area is themed in Hawaiian style, creating an exotic atmosphere that enchants children from the moment they step inside.
Here, fun is for everyone:
- For little explorers: There are areas entirely dedicated to children who aren’t yet tall enough for the big slides. Pools with very shallow water, small soft slides and interactive water games allow the little ones to play in complete safety, whilst you parents can keep an eye on them just a few metres away.
- For thrill-seekers: The park offers an incredible variety of attractions. From slides in the dark to large multi-lane slides where families can compete, right up to the legendary central pool which, at regular intervals, transforms into a rough sea with hilarious waves.
- Not just water: One of the park’s strong points is its entertainment. With acrobatic shows, themed performances and even circus schools for children, there’s never a dull moment, even outside the pool.
A great alternative: the Follonica site
If, during your holiday, you fancy exploring the coast further south, you’ll find the Acqua Village in Follonica about 35 minutes from Canado.
Whilst maintaining the same tropical style and the same attention to service, Follonica offers slightly different slides and settings. It is the ideal destination if you have already visited Cecina and want a change of scenery, whilst still guaranteeing a perfect day of sun, dips and relaxation in the shade of large straw parasols.
Organising your “Splash Day”
Getting to Acqua Village from Canado is very easy. Here’s how to make the most of your day without any stress:
- Distances: Cecina is about 24 km away (northbound), whilst Follonica is about 30 km away (southbound). Both are easily accessible via the Variante Aurelia.
- Comfort: Inside, you’ll find shaded areas, sun lounger hire, changing rooms and refreshment points to suit every need.
- Staff tip: Buy your tickets online to skip the queue at the ticket office. Bring sun cream and rubber-soled shoes for the children: they’ll be very useful for running between attractions.
A memory that smells of summer
There’s a special feeling when returning to Canado after such a busy day at Acqua Village. It’s that happy tiredness you can see on the children’s faces, still buzzing from the last slide or the group dance in the pool. As the car glides back towards our pine forest, the cheerful chaos of the slides gives way to the rustling of the wind through the pines.
It’s the perfect moment for one last refreshing dip in our pool or a quiet shower before dinner, knowing you’ve given your family one of those days that goes straight into the album of your fondest memories. You go to Acqua Village for the slides, but you return to Canado to rediscover that warmth and peace that only ‘home’ can provide.
